Caterpillar's Integrated Components and Solutions Division is currently seeking a Senior Autonomy Engineer to join the Caterpillar Mining Safety Systems team, with a primary focus on the Driver Safety System (DSS).
The Cat® Detect Driver Safety System is an advanced in-cab detection technology designed to identify and mitigate fatigue and distraction events, significantly enhancing operator safety in mining environments.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering results across new product development, continuous product improvement, and emerging technology initiatives within the DSS technical team. Success in this position requires strong technical and analytical capabilities. You should also possess excellent communication and project management skills, along with demonstrated leadership experience in engineering teams. You will be expected to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with product support, commercial teams, strategy groups, process owners, and customers. Your ability to foster these partnerships will be essential in delivering exceptional service and ensuring the DSS contributes to the best-in-class value of the MineStar solution. Additionally, you will provide ongoing key technical direct support to customers, with frequent and meaningful interactions with end users to ensure their needs are met and their safety is prioritized by understanding their IT infrastructure, mining processes, and site setup.
**What you will do:**
+ Lead projects for current and legacy DSS platforms.
+ Develop and manage technical requirements, communicate to stakeholders, team members, and platform groups.
+ Participating in the processes of test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of robotics software.
+ Consulting on the integration issues of robotic software with existing infrastructure components and products.
+ Lead requirements development and management, delivery, implementation, testing, validation, and release of software for robotic devices.
+ Provide Coaching and Technical Guidance to global team of Engineers along with Team development
+ Provide Project leadership & Governance
+ Provide leadership and governance on New Product Introduction (NPI), New Technology Introduction (NTI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and Cost Reduction Projects
**What Skills you will have:**
**Technical Excellence:** Extensive **design engineering experience in component or software development.** Site network infrastructure knowledge.
**Technical Troubleshooting:** Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
**Industry Knowledge:** Knowledge of the organization's industry group, trends, directions, major issues, regulatory considerations, and trendsetters; ability to apply industry knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
**Problem Solving:** Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
**Software Product Testing:** Knowledge of software product testing; ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure software product quality and adherence to stated requirements.
**Application Development Tools:** Knowledge of application and system development; ability to utilize a variety of specific tools and toolkits for developing applications.
**Education:** Requires a Bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering or Computer Science.
**Top Candidates will also have:**
Working knowledge with Driver Safety Systems Technology.
Software and Systems Development knowledge.
**Additional Information:**
This position requires the candidate to **work full-time at the Tucson, AZ or Mossville, IL office.**
Domestic relocation assistance is available.
This position may require 15% travel.

**Summary Pay Range:**
$110,520.00 - $179,640.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
