Our Award Winning Client , a leading pediatric healthcare provider in the Greater Philadelphia area, is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Advanced Practitioner to join its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) . This opportunity is ideal for an experienced professional looking to make a significant impact in a top-tier medical setting.
Position Summary:
The NICU Advanced Practitioner (APP) will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and other advanced practitioners to provide exceptional care to critically ill newborns. The role involves both direct patient care, including performing procedures, and working as part of a collaborative team to manage patient progress, ensure safety, and follow up on care plans.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the frontline provider for up to 8 NICU patients on weekends (7:30 AM to 4:30 PM), including performing patient exams, writing progress notes, and presenting plans on rounds.
Be available for night shifts (4:40 PM to 7:30 AM) on call with the attending neonatologist and pediatric resident.
Perform critical procedures such as intubation , arterial and venous blood draws , UVC/UAC placement , IV placement , and PICC placement .
Provide continuous patient care, collaborating with the medical team to develop and implement treatment plans.
Serve as a key team member in patient rounds and clinical decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field.
National certification as a Pediatric Advanced Practitioner .
Strong clinical skills in neonatal care, including the ability to perform required procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting.
Familiarity with advanced neonatal care protocols and procedures.
Candidate Profile:
Entry-level or other seniority level, with the capacity for learning and applying critical NICU care skills.
No management experience required.
Willingness to work on call and weekend shifts as required.
