Job Description
Talent Connections has been retained to lead a Director of Talent Acquisition search for a midsize, fast-growing, nationwide repair services company seeking a strategic and operational Director of Talent Acquisition to design, build, and lead a high-impact recruiting function that supports their rapid expansion and operational goals. This is a rare opportunity to shape the future of talent acquisition in a dynamic, values-driven organization. THIS IS A HYBRID ROLE and will work onsite 2 days per week.
The Opportunity
As the Director of Talent Acquisition, you will create and execute a scalable recruiting strategy that aligns with our culture, values, and business priorities. You will lead all aspects of talent acquisition from union and non-union hiring to onboarding, while developing processes, systems, and partnerships that ensure they attract, hire, and retain the best talent in the industry. This is both a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for a leader who thrives on building from the ground up while delivering results at pace.
Key Responsibilities
Build and lead a scalable, high-performance TA function that supports company growth.
Develop and implement streamlined recruiting processes, job descriptions, sourcing strategies, interview flows, and onboarding programs.
Partner with hiring managers to create strategic staffing plans for both union and non-union roles.
Oversee all union hiring, ensuring compliance with labor requirements while delivering a smooth candidate experience.
Serve as project manager for key talent initiatives - setting timelines, managing stakeholders, and ensuring execution.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws related to recruitment activities, background checks, pay transparency, and job postings.
Collaborate with HR and operations leaders to enhance onboarding, accelerate new hire productivity, and improve retention.
Measure TA effectiveness through metrics and KPIs, continuously optimizing the hiring process.
Manage recruiting systems (including ADP) to drive performance and efficiency.
Coach and develop a small, high-performing recruiting team.
Partner with senior leadership to execute the broader People strategy with integrity, speed, and adaptability.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in HR, business, or related field preferred.
10+ years in senior-level Talent Acquisition leadership, with a track record of building and scaling recruiting functions.
Experience recruiting for unionized workforces is required.
Strong operational and hands-on approach, with the ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels.
Project management expertise with proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
Experience with recruiting systems (ADP strongly preferred) and data-driven hiring strategies.
Skilled in negotiating and managing third-party recruiting agreements.
Experience building relationships with trade schools, military, and technical programs to attract top talent.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to lead through change in high-growth environments.
