Walsh Jesuit High School is seeking a full time, 12-month Assistant Athletic Director to assist the school’s Athletic Director with supervising the school’s individual athletic programs as well as recommending policies and procedures related to the overall athletics program. The Assistant Athletic Director plays a vital role in fostering a positive culture of sportsmanship, teamwork and excellence and ensuring a high-quality, mission-driven athletic experience for Walsh Jesuit High School students. Major Responsibilities Event Management Collaborates with Athletic Director to determine events to be covered Assists with the coverage of athletic events as game/site manager Assists the Athletic Director in recruitment and coordination of support personnel for all athletic contests, including game management, ticket sales, security, athletic trainer, and emergency personnel and apparatus Assists the Athletic Director with the development of interscholastic athletic schedules and officials schedules for all contests Ensures timely and accurate payment of officials for their services; processes payments for officials through Dragonfly on a bi-monthly basis Oversees ticketing and procedures via Hometown Ticketing for all home events Coordinates ticketing operations to ensure smooth entry for spectators Oversee coordination of concessions w/ Athletic Booster Club Serves as the CYO coordinator, overseeing planning and logistics for all CYO events Student Support Works with Director of Academic Support to identify students with academic support needs Collaborates with Assistant Principal of Academics to monitor student athlete academic progress Communicates the academic support needs and progress of student athletes to coaches, as necessary In conjunction with Assistant Principal for Academics, Assistant Principal for Student Discipline and Safety, and Assistant Athletic Director, track student-athlete eligibility and notify AD and coaches of student-athlete’s standing Serves as Athletic Department liaison for college coach visits to the school, including communication with students and working with class schedules Coach Selection/Support Assists with the interview process for hiring new coaches, collaborating with the hiring team to evaluate candidates and make informed hiring decisions Oversees interview process of new coaches, including ensuring all human resource requirements are understood and implemented by hiring teams Works with the Athletic Director to ensure successful onboarding of new coaches Assists the Athletic Director in the supervision of all athletic coaches and contests List a few bullet points for that fall under each responsibility Administration Represents the school, as needed, at league, district, regional, state, and national meetings for administering the athletic program Assists the Athletic Director in ensuring that all applicable state rules and regulations and all applicable school policies and procedures are applied and followed Maintains accurate and up-to-date rosters for all sports teams Update team rosters on the school website regularly Input rosters on MyWJ for attendance tracking and team identification Ensure that all coaches have access to school Hudl accounts Provides oversight for usage of Hudl system and all associated equipment for coaches and players Manages budget allocations for coaches gear; handles ordering process for coaches clothing in conjunction with the school’s Apparel Purchasing Manager Manager the Final Forms process Faith Formation Embrace, display, and support Catholic/Christian values and spiritual formation. Regular participation in Ignatian formation activities including the school’s formal formation program, school masses, retreats, and other activities/events as scheduled. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field along with prior coaching experience in a high school environment Working knowledge of OHSAA rules and regulations A valid First Aid Certificate from the American Red Cross, including CPR training Excellent verbal and written communications skills Demonstrated leadership and facilitative skills Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work independently Available to work evenings and weekends as needed Embrace and display Catholic/Christian values and spiritual life.
