App State Athletics is seeking a motivated, passionate, and service-oriented individual to become the Assistant or Associate Athletic Director for Marketing. This position will report directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Generation. The successful candidate will be an experienced intercollegiate athletics professional with a comprehensive understanding of collegiate marketing operations, along with campus and department policies and procedures, to plan, administer, and coordinate the daily operations of these complex programs. Key responsibilities include: Direct responsibility for all marketing and promotional campaigns, brand development, and game entertainment for the athletics programs, supporting the mission of the App State Athletics Department. Management of all elements for football and basketball, including marketing, budgeting, promotions, sales, and brand exposure; supervision of marketing and promotion initiatives for other sports. Serve as the primary day-to-day marketing contact for Sports Productions, Multi-Media Rights partner, Game Operations, Mountaineers Athletic Fund, and Strategic Communications. Coordinate with senior administration and the ticket office to develop ticket strategies and campaigns for ticketed sports to meet financial objectives. Oversee the design and distribution of promotional materials. Optimize the use of the Paciolan ticketing system and CRM database, including enhancements to PACMail, mobile ticketing advertising, and partnering platforms. Continue grassroots marketing efforts and develop digital media advertising strategies to maximize ROI and foster data-driven decision-making. Develop innovative methods to reach new fans, engage current fans, and promote ticket sales and Mountaineers Athletics Club memberships. Maintain campus relationships to increase student and faculty/staff attendance. Provide excellent customer service to ensure positive patron experiences. Act as the athletic department liaison to the App State Marching Band. Perform related duties as required, including assisting with non-athletics events as needed. Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in sports management, business administration, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for degree. At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in a collegiate athletics department. Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, with a commitment to operate within those rules. Experience in sports marketing and working with athletics departments. Customer service and management experience.
